Parent Teacher Conference Resources

Parent-Teacher conference are an amazing opportunity to celebrate our Little Bolts and continue to build on the home to school connection. These are often long, exhausting days for you but each parent/guardian only gets those 20 minutes to talk about their child and we have to make the most of it. An outline of Parent Teacher Conference Considerations was shared to help prep for these conversations.

To help maximize that time last year we talked about reaching out to parent/guardians before and asking what they would like to discuss during the conference using a Google Form. Knowing what they would like to discuss prior to, could help in how you prepare for each conference and make them more meaningful.
Additionally, we share this possible template to help guide the conference and contain information that you might not have time to cover during the 20 minutes.

A digital copy of this template with editable text boxes is available as well- Digital Parent Teacher Conference Template

One topic that parent/guardians often bring up is how to support at home. This is a great opportunity to have additional support with student specific needs that could be indicated on the parent teacher conference sheet. If you are interested in a more generic option as well, this resource has four options for supporting math at home to choose from.  (Parent Handouts)

Ultimately, the goal is to not only share what the student is able to do now, but how he/she will continue to grow in your class this year. Hopefully some of these resources will make planning and preparing for parent-teacher more manageable and leave our parent/guardians feeling like part of the equation in their child's learning.
